Freezing # 3
Not the earlier start of previous Freezing entries but out on the bike trail before 8am to get to West Point Grey Library for 9am and a four hour shelving shift.
The Off Broadway bike trail with its view of the North Shore Mountains is breathtaking. It's a steady climb, also somewhat breathtaking.
The routine route although probably warmer was definitely more challenging. I had to stop take a breather close to the studios of JRFM and the Peak.
Kettle on for tea!

Freezing # 2
Timed my Gastown to BCIT cycle route today. Started out at 3.53am and arrived at the Broadcast Centre 42 minutes later.
That time is about my average. I think how much faster I could it with a road bike (racer) or at least some paniers. One thing is certain the bike is too small for me but the dinosaur, T Rex, to you continues to do the job.
A neighbour was up bright and early and there were several cars on the road this morning, full moon rising!
The alarm woke me from a dream, and I nearly reset it. Stood for a moment consequences dimly going through my dreamy head. I got dressed. Made two cheese, peanut butter and honey sandwiches on sour dough. One for breakfast, one for later. Just had a banana and now drinking water, coffee will have to wait.
It's currently -1. The clear condition continue today but there's increasing cloudiness and I guess we'll get rain by the weekend.

Freezing # 1
It's freezing out there.
Another awesome bike commute. Didn't waste time waiting for a bus that never comes this morning.
Started cycling from Powell Street and didn't stop until I got to BCIT in Burnaby, slowing down only at the intersections of Clark, Renfew, Boundary on Adanac.
Saved some time by turning south on Boundary and then south east on Douglas to Gilmore.
Kept ears warm with a sock wrapped tight round back of head beneath bike helmet. Donned ski gloves today. Tomorrow, extra pair of boxers to counteract a different kind of cold.
peace

Fog and biking
Main and Hastings at 3.52am - no bus. Started cycling.
BCIT campus 4.35! Oh yeah!
I'm so grateful for the full moon and dry conditions. It made cycling so easy. The cycling was easy but the cold, ouch. By the time I got to Nanaimo my ears were frozen. I took off my gloves and by the time I'd reached Windermere had transferred my gloves to my ears. My bike helmet holding them in place. I used my the stretch sleeves of my jacket to keep my hands relatively warm. I then noticed my feet were cold. Keep peddling!
It's an easy route.
criss cross from M & H to Union which becomes Adanac. Follow all the way to Gilmore and then downhill via Still Creek Drive.
