The Hanes Valley

A friend and I hiked the Hanes Valley today. What an amazing experience. I have done quite a lot of hiking on the North Shore behind Grouse Mountain and more recently have got reacquainted with Lynn Creek Headwaters Regional Park.

Today we did the trail, 17km, that links the two. We took the gondola up Grouse Mtn and from there hiked towards Goat Mtn before taking the Hanes Valley turn and descending the chained section.
Not long after we arrived at the toughest part of the hike the turning for Hanes Valley and about three hours of scrambling including plenty of photo ops and food, and admiring the scenery.

Then it was back into the forest for quite a long hike. We were surprised at how long it took to reach Norvan Falls but from there picked up our pace and were really moving fast for the last two hours to the parking lot.

Awesome!
