Updated for week 18-24 Jan.
6:57 to St. John's has been on air at Vancouver Cooperative Radio since the early summer of 2011. In some ways it still feels like the show is just beginning. We predate the CFRO frequency swap from 102.7fm to our new place on the dial at 100.5fm. However the show is a mere baby compared to the likes of Redeye, or the Reggae Show.
Talking of reggae - we kick off at 7am or 6:57 following the Roots Reggae show hosted by Lynden and Rocky. Me, I've been a programmer at Coop Radio since 2005 having been involved with Redeye, The Rational, African Vibes, Last Call, Front Row Centre, Media Mornings and currently Sound Resistance and 6:57 to St. John's.
The 6:57 is a show playing new Canadian music releases. We play music from across the country. Listen to the most recent podcast of the show at coopradio dot org/station/archives/14077
Right now we are in the midst of our 657 song cycle. We are playing 657 songs and no repeats. There will be songs by the same artists but definitely not the same song.
All feedback on tracks played gratefully appreciated at garyjarvis@live.ca
We will update the list of the 657 songs each week.
